| Task | Frequency |
|---|---|
| Brushing (short coat) | Weekly |
| Brushing (long coat) | Daily |
| Bath | Every 4–6 weeks or when dirty |
| Nail trim | Every 3–4 weeks |
| Ear check & clean | Weekly |
| Teeth brushing | 3+ times a week |
| Eye wipe | As needed |
Grooming-Session Checklist
- Brush out the whole coat, checking for mats
- Look and feel for lumps, ticks or sore spots
- Check ears for smell, redness or discharge
- Trim nails (avoid the pink quick)
- Wipe eyes and any tear stains
- Reward with a treat so grooming stays positive
Tips
- Use only pet shampoo; human products upset their skin pH.
- Brush before bathing to remove tangles.
- Go slowly with nails; a little and often beats one stressful trim.
